Private · On your iPhone and iPad

A quiet place to untangle difficult thoughts.

Some thoughts linger long after the moment has passed. ThoughtWell offers a quiet place to step outside the loop and find a more balanced view — on your terms, at your speed.

The ThoughtWell home screen, asking what is on your mind tonight.

The idea

Some thoughts stay longer than they need to.

Not because you lack intelligence, and not because you lack resilience. Because it is genuinely hard to see a situation clearly while you are still standing inside it.

“Clarity is rarely delivered. It’s usually discovered.”

ThoughtWell doesn’t hand you an answer. It asks one question at a time and gives you room to write, so you can notice what you already know.

How it works

How a reflection unfolds

It opens with a choice — something difficult happened, or I just want to think. Here is the first path.

Seven questions, one per screen — and a checkpoint halfway where stopping is a real choice. What you’ve written is kept either way.

Part one · Getting it out

1

The event

What happened?

Get it out of your head and onto the page — just the moment that stands out, as you remember it.

2

Feelings

How did you feel in the moment?

Choose the feelings that were there, and say how loud each one was.

In the backgroundPresentTaking over

3

The story

What story did you start telling yourself?

The automatic interpretation, not the facts. What did your mind immediately begin saying? “I’m failing.” “They don’t respect me.”

Checkpoint

This may be enough for now.

Sometimes simply noticing the story your mind started telling is all you need today. Nothing pushes you deeper than you want to go.

Set This Down For Now Look At It More Closely
Part two · Looking closer

4

Why it felt true

What made that story feel believable?

Not about proving the thought true — about understanding why it made sense to you.

5

What was left out

What might your mind have left out?

If someone else had watched what happened, what might they have noticed that your mind skipped?

6

More likely true

What feels more likely to be true?

Not “think positive.” Just the most balanced explanation of what happened.

Part three · Where you landed

7

Where you landed

How do you feel now?

The same feelings, chosen again — so you can see what shifted since you began.

Reflection summary

You started by feeling embarrassed, and telling yourself you had failed. Looking more closely, you noticed your mind focused mostly on the criticism and overlooked the positive feedback. You now feel that making one mistake doesn’t mean you’re failing.

Assembled from your own words. No advice, no diagnosis, and no interpretation beyond organising what you already wrote.

ThoughtWell checkpoint screen offering the choice to explore a little deeper or leave the reflection here.
After question three · stopping is a real choice
ThoughtWell reflection ending screen saying: You made a little space for this today.
At the end · a quiet place to land

You spent a little time with something difficult.

You don’t have to solve everything today. That’s where a reflection ends — no score, no streak, nothing to keep up.

Guided, not directed

Soft prompts when you want them. Silence when you don’t.

Nothing to track

No streaks, no scores, no reminders that make you feel behind.

Written in your words

ThoughtWell never interprets. It only organizes what you already wrote — your words, not its conclusions.

Private by design

Your reflections stay on this device.

People think most honestly when they trust that their thoughts belong to them. That isn’t a feature we added — it’s the reason the app works the way it does.

  • No account. There is nothing to sign up for.

  • Your reflections are never used to train AI.
  • Export or delete everything, any time, in Settings.

FAQ

Questions people ask

Something not here? Write to customersupport@mythoughtwell.com.

Is ThoughtWell therapy?

No. ThoughtWell is software for clearer thinking — not treatment, and not a substitute for care from a professional. It is also not a crisis service. If you feel unsafe or might hurt yourself, please find support now.

Where do my reflections actually live?

On your device, and nowhere else. There is no account and no cloud sync, so there is no copy of your writing on a server for us or anyone else to read. Your reflections stay until you delete them, and you can delete all of them at any time in Settings.

Do I need to create an account?

No. Open the app and begin. Nothing to verify, no email address, no password.

Can I stop partway through?

Yes — and the app asks you to consider it. Three questions in, a checkpoint offers to set the reflection down for now. Nothing pushes you deeper than you want to go, and whatever you have written is kept.

Does ThoughtWell use AI to analyse what I write?

Your writing is never sent anywhere to be analysed, and it is never used to train AI. The summary at the end only organises what you already wrote — it draws no conclusions for you.

What happens if I don’t open it for a while?

Nothing. There are no streaks to break, no reminders that ask where you’ve been, and no notifications designed to pull you back. It’s here when you need it.

When will ThoughtWell Plus be available?

ThoughtWell v1 is free and does not include Plus. A subsequent release will introduce ThoughtWell Plus, and we’ll update this page when it is ready.

Does it work with VoiceOver and larger text?

Yes. VoiceOver, Dynamic Type, High Contrast, and Reduce Motion are all supported, on iPhone and iPad. Accessibility isn’t a separate mode in ThoughtWell — it’s how the app is built.

Whenever you’re ready.

There’s no right time to begin, and nothing waiting for you if you don’t.
